A lot of people ask me “Julie, how to do you stay so positive and productive, you just never give up and you are so motivated” So I thought it was worth doing a quick blog to share with you guys some tips on how I personally stay Positive and Productive and maybe inspire others.

"TO LIVE IS A BEAUTIFUL THING."
I hang out with like-minded people who energize me and I avoid the energy vampires.
You know the kind, the emotionally immature individuals who have the sense that the whole world revolves around them. These people often lack empathy and are almost incapable of seeing things from another person's perspective.
I learn from, and get inspired by, successful people.
There are so many people out there doing amazing things. You only have to jump onto YouTube or Instagram to find some extremely inspiring people who are really doing something with their lives. Find a person you want to be like and look at how they have designed their lives and follow their journey. This doesn’t mean copy them and become a stalker, instead allow their lives to inspire your own journey.
I ask myself the right kind of questions.
The “what can I learn from this experience” questions, rather than the “why does this happen to me” questions and let me tell you.. Negative situations and people do find a way into my life on a regular basis, sometimes we just can’t avoid it. To stop things from building up inside I like to sit down at the end of each day and assess how I could have either avoided a situation or what I can change to make it better next time around.
I regularly get excited about possibilities.
Sometimes too excited! And why not ! I even get excited about the simple and small things in life. Where focus goes, energy flows so if you have a great idea or plan then get excited and share this excitement with supportive friends and family who will get excited with you!
I don’t focus on negatives.
I invest my emotional energy where it will give me the best return. This is so important. It’s the law of physics that every negative has a positive so focus on the positive no matter how small it is. This makes a massive difference to your mindset and is a great habit to get into.
I change the stuff I can and I let go of the stuff I have no control over.
There are so many things that are out of our control for example, you work your but of for an audition, you are ready, you give the performance of your life, you walk out of the room feeling pretty pleased with yourself and then…. you don’t get the roll. This is a pure example of something that is out of your control. Focus on the things that are in your control. For me that is working on my fitness and health, my knowledge, my skill set, my relationships with others, my networking skills and volunteering my time to an organisation or charity that needs me.
I am constantly setting goals. Big and small.
I am HUGE on lists and schedules. I am constantly coming up with ideas and plans no matter how big or small and setting myself millstones each day to bring me closer to reaching them. I also love creating vision boards as a constant visual reminder.
I dedicate time every day to ‘switching off’ and having fun.
For fun’s sake whether that’s running around the back yard with the dogs, going for a bike ride, watching a movie or meeting with friends for a drink and a giggle.
I express myself creatively.
It makes me happy. I do this by learning scenes from movies or theatre and filming them, writing scripts and producing movies & music videos.
I let myself dream.
Sometimes my mind keeps me awake all night! Everything great started with a dream.
"BELIEVE WHEN OTHERS DOUBT, WORK WHEN OTHERS REFUSE, SAVE WHEN OTHERS WASTE, STAY WHEN OTHERS QUIT AND YOU WILL WIN WHEN OTHERS LOSE"
I invest time into others.
People who are completely self-focused tend to have more downs than ups. I am always helping those who need it be it offering advise or lending a helping hand. I love to volunteer for causes that are important to me and close to my heart.
Whatever most people my age do. I try and avoid.
I refuse to let age be a deciding factor in anything I want to or plan to do.
I regularly take stock of my life.
and consciously appreciate everything in it and about it. I am always acutely aware that my life is great and that I am blessed to be where I am.
I set high standards for myself.
I want to be exceptional and do exceptional things, and I will. Not because I’m particularly talented, but because I am prepared to work harder than most. I love to explore and push the boundaries of my potential.
I love doing what most people don’t or won’t.
I love being unconventional and throwing ‘logic’ out the window (now and then). I think that Sometimes logic is a synonym for fear and ignorance.
I look after myself physically.
Being physically fit and healthy, helps me stay focused on a mental, emotional and creative level. It’s very hard to be ‘up’ when you’re physically unwell.
My self-talk is positive.
I don’t beat myself up. I don’t feel sorry for myself and I don’t indulge in ‘pity parties’.
I get great feedback and support
from lots of amazing people – like you guys. Thanks.
I keep stimulated and challenged
by doing lots of different stuff! I thrive on variety and change – private coaching, corporate speaking, script writing, TV, blogging, Editing, building websites, and business development. If I had to do the same thing day in, day out, I would be in trouble. I have made a career out of my passion. I get paid to do what I love.
I spend quiet time alone recharging my batteries.
No phone, no internet, no TV, no people, no noise, no distractions. I put on my diffuser with my favourite essential oils or jump into a bath and listen to relaxation music or meditate. It’s important to stop and listen your inner voice.
So there you have it. There is no one way or magic formula, it’s really all about your mindset and training yourself to think differently and look at situations in a different way. I’ve just told you what I do but it’s up to you to implement the changes into your every day life.
